I don’t know what to say. I look, I make. I’m kind of scared to dive into it!
PAINTING
In the summer of 2017, I took a landscape painting class. It eventually led me to the Shared Seas Exhibit which showed at Monterey Peninsula College and The Tannery. I’d like to do more plein-air painting.
INKTOBER
I participated and completed the Inktober challenge in 2018 (pen drawings) and 2019 (ink washes). It’s challenging to make something everyday for a month, but very satisfying once it’s done.
MIX
I took AP Art 3-4 in high school, but I never finished the course. It was fun to work with all sorts of media; I also explored digital art on the side. I wish I kept better track of my work back then. Some of these assignments are from an art appreciation class.
CD DOODLES
Just before the rise of MP3 players, smart phones, and streaming services… you could burn your own music mixes onto compact discs. A kind friend and patron commissioned my doodles on blank CDs to gift to friends. A nostalgic time period.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Got into it when I found my dad’s Minolta in high school. I used to walk to Walgreens after school to get film developed. Took an intro to photography class later on. It amazes me that I got paid to take photos at one point in my life. Haha.
